Currently you can only see the straight-line distance between poles. This can be confusing when distances seem larger than what is shown on the map. This is also a problem when you adjust the "Relative Elevation" because you will have the poles move from their GPS coordinates.
I attached an image (Distance.png) of the distance changing after modifying the elevation.
I also attached an image (RelativeElevation.png) of a before (top) and after (bottom). You will notice that the distance from the bottom pole decrease while the top pole increases.
